Ey’ Up Yorkshire!

Brass bands, flat caps, whippet racing, wrinkled stockings, beef dripping with bread, Yorkshire puddings. The clichés associated with “God’s own country” are endless. And yet, what does Yorkshire look like today?

We want to hear from you!

Be part of creating the Yorkshire Poem with thousands of people across the region. We have teamed up with Sheffield Poetry Laureate Otis Mensah to create a brand new Yorkshire Poem.

All you have to do is fill in the blanks below either on Facebook or sent via email to louise@settlestories.org.uk:

I ____ Yorkshire because _____ and _______.

Otis will use your wonderful words to create a new poem for the region. Whether you’re young or old, rural or urban, seaside or Dales, we want to hear your contribution. What does Yorkshire mean to you?

The poem will premiere on Yorkshire Day as part of our Yorkshire Festival of Story.
