Creative Writing

Who are you? Who are we? What matters to us?

In a day of creative writing and performance, discover and explore the things that are really important to us. Take part in energetic and exciting creative writing exercises, share work with each other, discover your creative voice and practice expressing yourself with metaphors, similes and lyrics. Then tie it all together in a group sharing.

Over the day you will write solo pieces, perform them to each other and learn how to write powerful poetry about the issues that matter to you – then create a live show as a group which will be shared at the end of the day with parents and friends.

More on facilitator Chris Singleton:

Chris is a performance poet and freelance theatre & spoken word practitioner. In 2013 he created Crowd Versing – a form of improvisational spoken word where every poem is based on an audience request and performed live, with no pre-planning or writing.

In his work as a practitioner, Chris works with young people and adults with learning disabilities. Chris is a practicing member of Playback Theatre Company, ThreadBear Theatre, and of comedy improvisation troupe Monkeyheads. His main loves in life are dinosaurs, sandwiches and calzones.
