Sita Brand

After a degree in Drama at Exeter University, Sita got a job with Common Lore storytellers and musicians with whom she toured for several years. Since then she has worked as an actress, presenter, writer, director, producer and arts consultant. In 1999, she went to Singapore as Artist in Residence funded by the British Council. Here she toured her one woman show Memories of an Indian Childhood to Singapore and Malaysia and ran workshops in storytelling.

On returning to the UK in 2000, she helped set up the Rich Mix Centre in London and established the multi-million pound programme Decibel for Arts Council England. More recently she performed for the North Pennine Storytelling Festival, at the Grassington Festival, has toured her one woman show in the UK, and will be appearing at the Lime Tree Festival in August 2011.
