Animator and film director Virpi Kettu has been working with Settle Stories to create animated films with people whose lives are affected by drugs or alcohol. We've been working with regional charity North Yorkshire Horizons to help their clients use the arts as a tool of self expression and to tell their story.
These films, along with other new films made by the general public in the area, will be featured at the Festival of Happiness at our Film Premiere. Virpi, who has been running the film workshops across 8 weeks with different groups, will show us these films and discuss her previous experiences working for Aardman Animations as an animator on the Wallace and Gromit Oscar winning feature film ‘Curse of the Were-Rabbit’ and ‘Creature Comforts’.
Since working with Aardman she has also worked with The National Film Board of Canada, Dream Works, Passion Pictures, Max Films, Cuppa Coffee and Universal Pictures in animation, consulting, production and direction.
Her work in creating music videos has crossed both sides of the Atlantic, it includes artists such as Ron Sexsmith, Knife and Radiohead.
Before her apperance at the Festival of Happiness, Virpi answers some questions on happiness.
