Settle Storytelling Competition

We teamed up with social networking site Audioboo to find the best amateur storyteller in the country.

We had entries from all round the country, with entrants aged from under 10 to their 90s.

The competition was judged by Taffy Thomas, Britain’s Storytelling Laureate, and the winners were announced at the Settle Storytelling Festival "Tea and Tales" event on Saturday 8th October 2011.

First prize was won by Vera Jacques, with her story "The Wooden Baby".

Second prize was won by Amelia Fawcett, with her story "The Fox and Crow".
