As well as being a Trustee of Settle Stories, Margaret, a retired teacher, helps with all kinds of office tasks. Her interests include walking, Scottish country dancing, singing, theatre and gardening.
Graham sometimes works in IT but is happier with a book in his hand engrossed in a fantasy or sci-fi story. He helps to maintain the website and runs the Box Office during the festival.
The next generation of Settle Stories! You'll spot Dylan helping out at our live events, distributing publicity materials and being an all round star! At only 9 years old he's Settle Stories youngest volunteer so a big thanks to his Mum Catherine who gives him a helping hand.
Pam helps in the office and helps us to keep on top of our admin.
The stuff I've learnt in the last year, I'd never have thought I was capable of doing before I came to Settle Stories!
Hazel was an English tutor. She has spent a life time helping people to improve their reading skills. Her hobbies include ballroom dancing, writing and tending to her allotment and of course volunteering in the Settle Stories office once a week.
Sarah is an alternative therapist using health and well-being therapies. She helps to run our Social Media campaigns and keeps an eye on our policies and volunteer management. Find out more about Sarah and her work here.
Catherine comes in to help with all sorts of odd jobs once a week after school. She's a bubbly, enthusiasitc character with a love for the performing arts.
Charlotte is a freelance writer and arts administrator. She contributes to the blog at Settle Stories and her other writing work includes articles for online magazines, web design and she’s attempting to write her first novel! Check out her work here.
Although Steve worked in industry for the whole of his career, he has maintained an interest in the Arts throughout, culminating in the completion of a doctorate in English Literature in 2014. Aside from part-time proofreading and some independent academic research, he writes blog features and reviews for Settle Stories.
